Wild by Cheryl Strayed

What made me buy the book – the tag line of the book

What I liked about the book – the nakedness with which the author puts herself forth, unabashed

Who will I recommend the book to – to someone who’d like to witness something raw, something less heard of

What did the book teach me – what is lost can be found

Go set a watchman by Harper Lee

What made me buy the book – the fame of its predecessor

What I liked about the book – the fluidity of the theme, the way it connects with the first book and yet is so far apart

Who will I recommend the book to – to anyone who’d like a closure with the first book or would like to know how Atticus was brought to life

What did the book teach me – the final gatekeeper indeed is the human’s own conscience

P.S. When this book came out, readers worldwide were aghast at the way Atticus grew old. Then came the fact that gave comfort to the literary bees – this book was the first draft of ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’. When Harper Lee wrote ‘Go Set A Watchman’ and sent it to the publisher, he advised her to write it from the perspective of the times 20 years before the book was actually in. Hence, she re wrote the book from the eyes of Scott, and that became the eponymous novel that the world has seen.
