I am what I was. I am what I will be.
Beings never change. We, beings that we are, learn. We adapt. We don’t change. We learn.
We learn to channel our energies, to be who we think we want to be, and to be what the world wants us to be. But, we’re still the same.

Ordinary, yet unique.
We go on and try to make a difference in our world as if the world is a lump of clay. The world is in fact something else entirely, like water. Water doesn’t remember its shape or form or even its state. It exists.
So go on, mould your water and make a model out of it. Once you perish, the water returns to its old ways. Legacy is a farce. Something that endures for centuries isn’t a legacy. It’s not even a blink in the time frame that we hope to make a mark on.
They say that if the Sun exploded right now, we won’t be able to see that big flash of light for 8 full minutes. Does it mean that in those 8 minutes, the Sun is still alive?
They say that if we were to view Earth from a distant star, we’d still see dinosaurs. Does it mean that dinosaurs exist?
Our understanding of time is under basic. And our dreams? Of colonizing Mars, of patronizing a gender, of trying to look beyond race, of admitting that you and your neighbour of color are one and the same.
It’s almost laughable.
It’s easier to talk to and befriend shadows than to face beings without having to judge them for their appearance, color, gender and their existence. True, shadows tend to grow longer and shorter, darker and lighter. But, they know that they are part of something bigger and they don’t hesitate becoming one with the blackness when the lights go out.
