The Great Derangement by Amitav Ghosh

What made me buy the book – the title of the book

What I liked about the book – the clarity and conviction with which the author speaks about the issue. He doesn’t have hidden agendas (like Tharoor with ‘Why I am a Hindu’ and Tully with ‘India in slow motion’ where both spread such malformed ideas in the name of something else entirely). The book came in 2016, and it prophesied that western coast of India will witness cyclones as violent as the ones experienced by the eastern coast. And with Cyclone Nisarga coming in, this book can’t emphasize enough about the great derangement

Who will I recommend the book to – a serious reader

What did the book teach me – a collective solution is what is the need of the hour

The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

What made me buy the book – it was a gift to a friend, which was returned

What I liked about the book – the crisp storytelling. The author didn’t care to describe the scene and building and what not. It was good in that respect

Who will I recommend the book to – a sci-fi or fantasy reader

What did the book teach me – there’s always something worth living for
