The Winter Of The Witch by Katherine Arden

What made me read the book – i got it as part of the big book box, so i picked it up to read

What I liked about the book – the fact that i was able to join the dots and understand the storyline (this is the final part of a grand trilogy) made me like it. I’m not sure if this is a plus point or a minus point for a novel series, to be able to stand on its own. Nevertheless, I’d love to read the entire trilogy once I get my hands on them

Who will I recommend the book to – a fantasy book reader. The author skillfully weaves myth, fiction and history into this series

What did the book teach me – there is a story waiting behind every dried leaf

The Lost Continent & Neither Here Nor There by Bill Bryson

What made me read the book – it was on 80% off, so i bought it

What I liked about the book – ahem, i liked the font alignment. Because, let’s face it, reading the two-in-one book felt like he was forced to go on travel and document his experiences. At least, he was generous with Europe. But he was spewing venom on USA, and all with little basis.

Who will I recommend the book to – someone who likes to see a parent scolding one child and praising the other child when they both did the same misdeed

What did the book teach me – it taught me to buy my books with more discretion
